Mothers' Group Community Code of Communication & Conduct

Our WhatsApp communities exist to help mothers feel connected, supported and less alone during the first year of motherhood.

Every member plays an important role in creating a community where everyone feels welcome, respected and comfortable participating.

By joining one of our community WhatsApp groups, you agree to the following principles.

Be kind and respectful

Treat every member with kindness, empathy and respect.

Motherhood looks different for every family. We welcome different experiences, perspectives and parenting choices, provided they are shared respectfully and without judgement.

Support, don't judge

These groups are a place to encourage one another, celebrate the wins, and support each other through the challenging moments.

Please avoid criticism, shaming, arguments or comments that may make another parent feel judged or unwelcome.

Respect privacy

Many mums share personal experiences within the group.

Please treat anything shared within the community as confidential. Do not share screenshots, photos or personal information outside the group without the person's permission.

Keep conversations relevant

Feel free to ask questions, seek recommendations, organise local catch-ups, celebrate milestones, or share information that may genuinely support other mothers and babies.

Please help keep conversations relevant to the purpose of the community.

Recommendations are welcome

We love members sharing recommendations for local mum and baby activities, services, events and resources that have genuinely been helpful.

Please only recommend businesses, services or events because you believe they add value to the community—not because you have a personal or financial interest in promoting them.

No self-promotion or unrelated advertising

These groups are community spaces, not advertising platforms.

Please do not use the group to promote your own business, products, services, fundraising campaigns, referral links or social media accounts.

Likewise, please avoid promoting unrelated businesses or commercial offers.

If you're unsure whether something is appropriate to share, please contact the Mothers' Group team first.

Respect everyone's time

Most members are caring for young babies.

Please keep messages thoughtful and avoid excessive forwarding, chain messages, spam or repeated posting.

Community safety

Everyone deserves to feel safe in our community.

Bullying, harassment, discrimination, offensive language, hate speech or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Members who repeatedly disregard these guidelines may be removed from the WhatsApp community or future Mothers' Group events at the discretion of the Mothers' Group team.

We're glad you're here

Whether you're attending a facilitated group, joining a coffee catch-up, coming to a guest speaker event, or simply looking to connect with other local mums, we're so pleased you've joined us.

Thank you for helping create a community where mothers feel welcomed, supported and connected.
