Free Mothers’ Groups in Sydney and Lake Macquarie
Local connection and support through your baby’s first year
Local Mum & Baby Groups
Motherhood brings plenty of questions, changes and moments you want to share with someone who understands.
Our free, professionally facilitated mothers’ groups bring together local mums with babies aged 0–12 months. Meet weekly during the school term to build friendships, share experiences and explore life with your baby.
Whether this is your first baby or you’re welcoming another child, you and your baby are welcome.
A familiar place in your week
Some weeks you might have plenty to share. Other weeks, simply getting out of the house and being around people who understand is enough.
Our small, consistent groups give you time to get comfortable, get to know one another and build connections at your own pace.
-

Familiar faces
Meet with the same small group of local mums each week, giving friendships time to grow.
-

Space for you both
Feed, cuddle, settle or follow your baby’s cues while taking time for your own connection and support.
-

Guided conversations
An experienced facilitator brings practical, evidence-based information into discussions shaped by your group’s experiences.
Explore what matters to you
Weekly conversations make room for the experiences of motherhood alongside questions about caring for your baby.
Your newsletter introduces the upcoming topic, with prompts for reflection and helpful resources you can return to afterwards. It also shares exclusive offers from our partners.
Questions don’t always arrive during a session. Our online suggestion form lets you share questions, ideas or topics anytime, anonymously if you prefer. Submissions go to your facilitator to help shape group discussions—so you don’t need to remember a thought until next week or raise it yourself in front of everyone.
Connection beyond your weekly session

Who are our mothers’ groups for?
Our groups welcome mums with babies aged 0–12 months, whether you’re a first-time mum or have older children.
You might be new to the area, looking for local friendships or wanting a regular space to connect during the week. You don’t need to know anyone before you come.
The program is free to attend.
What we aim to achieve
Through our programs, we aim to help mothers:
feel less isolated and more connected to their local community
build supportive relationships with other mothers
feel more confident navigating early motherhood
access trustworthy, practical information
recognise when additional support may be helpful
know where and how to seek that support
feel respected, included and emotionally safe
participate regardless of their capacity to pay
For babies and families, our broader aim is to support responsive relationships, family wellbeing and strong foundations during the first year of life.
