Free Parent Education & Guest Speaker Sessions
Free expert-led sessions offering practical information, trusted guidance and connection during your baby’s first year.
Our Parent Education & Support Sessions are free to attend, with babies warmly welcome.
Practical support for your baby’s first year
The first year with a baby brings constant change — and often a lot of conflicting information.
Mothers’ Group provides free parent education and community support sessions designed to make trustworthy information easier to access.
We invite experienced professionals to share practical, evidence-informed guidance on topics relevant to mothers and babies during the first year of life.
Sessions are relaxed, welcoming and designed to leave plenty of space for questions, conversation and real life with a baby.
You do not need to be a member of one of our weekly Mothers’ Groups to attend unless an individual event specifically says otherwise.
What do we talk about?
Topics vary throughout the year according to the needs and interests of the mothers and families in our communities.
Sessions may explore areas including:
infant development and understanding your baby’s cues
sleep and daily rhythms
feeding, breastfeeding and starting solids
movement, play and early development
bonding, attachment and communication
adjusting to motherhood
maternal wellbeing
postnatal recovery
navigating common questions during your baby’s first year
Where specialist expertise is required, sessions are delivered by appropriately experienced guest professionals.
Our aim is not to promote one particular parenting method. We provide balanced information, thoughtful discussion and opportunities for parents to ask questions so they can make decisions that feel right for their own family.
Who are the sessions for?
Our Parent Education & Support Sessions are primarily designed for mothers with babies aged 0–12 months.
They may be particularly helpful if you are:
a first-time mum
looking for reliable information about your baby
navigating conflicting parenting advice
wanting to ask questions in a supportive environment
looking to meet other local mothers
interested in understanding your baby’s development
looking for free early-parenthood support in your community
Most sessions are baby-friendly, so feeding, sleeping, crying, cuddling and moving around during the session are completely welcome.
Individual event listings will explain if there are any different eligibility requirements.
More than a parenting class
Information matters, but early motherhood is not only about learning what to do.
Having somewhere welcoming to go, being able to ask questions without judgement and meeting other mothers going through a similar stage can matter just as much.
That is why our parent education sessions sit alongside our facilitated Mothers’ Groups.
Our weekly groups provide a consistent, small-group environment where mothers with babies aged 0–12 months can build genuine local friendships while accessing evidence-informed guidance and professional facilitation.
