Facilitated Weekly Mothers' Groups

For Mums & Babies

Your baby’s first year shapes a lifetime.

And you shouldn’t have to navigate it alone.

Mothers' Group provides free, professionally facilitated mothers' groups for mums and babies aged 0–12 months, creating consistent local communities where mothers can connect, build friendships and access trusted guidance.

We believe that when mothers have access to calm guidance, respectful support and meaningful community, babies benefit — and families are strengthened from the very start.

Nurturing Mothers. Supporting Babies. Strengthening Communities.

Our work is grounded in early childhood development, and a deep respect for the mother–baby relationship. As a not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to making high-quality early parenting support more accessible through fully-funded professionally facilitated Mothers’ Group programs and community connection initiatives.

Why Early Support Matters

Support early. Connect locally. Strengthen families.

The transition to motherhood can bring major emotional, social and practical change. For some mothers, limited local support, isolation, conflicting information and difficulty knowing where to seek help can make the first year especially challenging.

Mothers’ Group provides accessible, community-based support during this important period. Through consistent professionally facilitated groups, mothers can build trusted local relationships, strengthen confidence, access reliable information and be connected with additional services when needed.

Our approach supports early intervention—not by treating or replacing clinical care, but by creating a welcoming pathway between families, communities and appropriate professional support.

What we aim to achieve

Through our programs, we aim to help mothers:

  • feel less isolated and more connected to their local community

  • build supportive relationships with other mothers

  • feel more confident navigating early motherhood

  • access trustworthy, practical information

  • recognise when additional support may be helpful

  • know where and how to seek that support

  • feel respected, included and emotionally safe

  • participate regardless of their capacity to pay

For babies and families, our broader aim is to support responsive relationships, family wellbeing and strong foundations during the first year of life.

  • “A mums group with no pressure is such a good space for new mums. I look forward to going each week and sharing experiences with other first-time mums.”

  • “I would highly recommend Nurturing Beginnings to all mums. It is run very professionally, and the mums are like-minded and understanding.”

  • “The hardest part postpartum was feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, not knowing where to look for support, and finding the confidence to ask for help while caring for my baby.”

  • “Knowing what advice to trust is hard when there is so much conflicting information. It would be wonderful for there to be more Nurturing Beginnings groups.”
